Tall celadon vase Thrown in one piece and dipped twice, so the green runs deeper toward the foot and pools in every throwing ring.

Tenmoku tea bowl A wide, low bowl for matcha. The glaze thins to rust at the rim and gathers almost black in the well.

Shino bottle A round bottle with a long neck. Where the glaze runs thin it flashes orange, and one side caught grey carbon from the flame.

Celadon moon jar Thrown in two halves and joined at the belly, the way moon jars have been made for centuries. The seam is still there if you look.

Tenmoku yunomi A tall cup for everyday tea, with no handle. It is thrown thin so it feels light and warms quickly in the hand.

Shino tea bowl The pale glaze goes grey where the carbon settled. The inside stays soft and white, so the tea looks greener.

Celadon bud vase Small enough for one stem. The narrow neck keeps a single flower standing upright.

Tenmoku cylinder vase A straight cylinder with the throwing rings left in. Silver oil spots gather near the top where the glaze sat thickest.
